One of our bigger US ski racing websites is very impressed with Nové Město:

Kind words there indeed. We were surprised how well organised it was too, from the news here the key was the volunteers, proud locals and biathlon fans from around the country. Usually for the music festivals they contract the staff out and its mickey mouse, temps for that event only let loose on quadbikes and telling people to get out of the way, awful toilet facilities and poor parking for less spectators even. Here it was all multilingual Czechs and it all flowed, helpful staff and no traffic jams or people jams. The fans were great because they werent priced out of it, about 5 USD trackside and 20 USD for the grandstand on Sunday and we all had our flasks of Slivovice to keep us warm and share out. There is a big cross country skiing culture here and hunting tradition, the local hunters(myslivec) were all trackside.

That region where it is has been rated the best standard of living in the country too, Vysocina. Im 5 mins from there and they have tidier villages, better gritted roads, better kept forests and such, the funds trickle down where its needed so for the venue it would be the same. Our funds get lost on the way in Jihomoravsky. I often dart up there to ski and Im looking forward to skiing the track next weekend if the snow holds.

Id recomend it for future World Cups and Europeans champs, especially if your from Europe wont break the bank like Finland, Germany or Sochi.
