Miriam Gössner is amazing

Postby Cloxxki » Sun Jan 06, 2013 3:05 pm

Why did she quit XC again? But great that she did!

Won the Sprint in Oberhof with misses.
In the Pursuit, she misses 10 TEN! 1.5km extra.
Finishes just a good minute down.

A bit unlucky those first 5 misses in the first prone. She likely overcooked it a bit, Berger's mind games doing their work. But the next prone shooting, also lane 1, Berger missed 4. 9/10 misses in lane one for prone. Mike Dixon for Eurosport theorized it might be a pothole from shoulderplants in the snow under the mat. Sounds logical if (sister) Berger is missing 4, and all to the right as did Gössner...
Gössner is under great pressure as Neuner's friend (sponsors actually still address banners to Neuner) and appointed successor. Similar or even greater ski speed (she's more of a Berger style skier it seems, skinnier than last year also), quick in the prone, usually missing in the standing. All the things that Germans love. Oh, and blonde...

Now that she's on superb skiing form, will the German XC team ask her for a relay? Well, the XC girls are doing a bit better than last year...

Biff, I don't even have a TV myself. Just downlaod the Eurosport recordings when available.

BTW, I'd recommend to anyone to ditch their TV's. It's a mind opening experience. Man, I was a silly numbed dupe before I switched mine off! I see the world so much clearer now.

You can watch all the IBU World Cup races (live or replay) here:

It is amazing to watch Gössner fly through the field on her way back to the lead after multiple penalties. She's like the Everready Bunny! Her shooting is improving, though. Yellow bib is in her future.
