Telemark and the Birkie

Postby TMcGoldrick » Tue Sep 10, 2013 10:51 am

Does anyone have information on Telemark? It looks like they are going into bankruptcy. Will they be open for the race and honoring reservations? Will the race still start there? Etc.

I believe I read that the Birkie will be able to use the area if not the lodge for 2014.

Holidays are coming. This is the perfect gift for the skier that has it all.

We've gathered up $150 plus change in pledges on Face Book. Would make some awesome ATV trails. Let's RIP! :butthead: :D

My guess: unless the news reports got the name wrong, Telemark's new owner could be Flanders Land Trust.

There is a Newco, LLC registered in CO, and a NEWCO, LLC too. Newco, LLC was registered to a Robert McCarthy, a pastry chef who also registered Red Elk Bakery/Paris Bakery at the same address, and has since moved-on to the SF Bay area.

NEWCO, LLC was incorporated by a G W Flanders of La Veta (near Great Sand Dunes). There's also a "G W Flanders Ranch" private airstrip near Colorado Springs, and a "Flanders Ranch" 10 miles west of Steamboat Springs, with website FlandersRanch.com, claiming 3000 acres and calling itself "Flanders Land Trust".

Then again, the Cable (WI) News Network may have just gotten the name wrong; there appear to be a dozen or so Blimpie franchises owned in Colorado under variations of "Blimpie Newco LLC".

But the Flanders Land Trust angle is more fun :) . Plus, I don't want to ski out from under a Blimpie banner, blechh.
