SISU Ski Fest - Ironwood MI Saturday 1/11

Postby SpecialGreen » Wed Jan 08, 2014 11:15 pm

SISU Ski Fest in Ironwood Michigan on Saturday, 1/11. Friday high temp will be about 32F, with 1 to 3 inches new snow expected overnight, while temps barely change at all (28F race start). Saturday temps unchanging from 6am to noon (28-29F), with 85%-92% relative humidity. Could be a fun VR45 day.

Looks like the forecast shifted colder for race time. It is dipping to -5 dC at race start now. It will be interesting. A few degrees either way could make a big difference.

I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering: http://www.sisuskifest.com/

42k / 21k + others. Finishes in downtown Ironwood.

You're welcome. :-)

I tested VR45 shortly before the race and didn't have much for kick. I put one layer under foot of VR50, and then one full length. That worked pretty well with no icing. It was a fun race with some pucker inducing corners at speed.
