I'm guessing the Freestyle (FS) course was much more difficult since the FS legs were 4-5 minutes slower.

I alway thought (over the same course) FS was significantly faster than classic?

A real cracker. :finga: Pulse was racing throughout the final leg. Pundits are already talking about it as one of the great World Champ relays.

The conditions were extreme. So loose and heavy snow. Krogh said he was stiff after 100 meters and wanted to give up.. :D He really proved what an extremely cool and tactical head he has. Played it perfectly. What a debut by him, and Ustiugov showed what fighter he is.

Krogh's leg was extraordinarily impressive!
For the duration of 5K he managed to maintain his tiny lead, while being chased by a super-strong competitor. How Ustiugov managed not to close the gap is beyond me - he had Krogh in his sight the whole time.
At the same time Krogh pushed himself 100% despite not seeing how far behind Ustiugov is. Very, very hard.
Who is this Krogh guy? Also, where is Northug and what is he doing now?

Krogh won the World Cup sprint 14/15, and IMO winning the cup is more of an accolade thanbeing world champ or even olympic champ as it showed he was consistently the best that season. But for years he has shown exceptional tactical skills and cool head required for sprints and this came out now. He is also very good in longer distances, one of the few who can do both.

Northug was in super shape and highly motivated before season, but messed it all up being too eager after altitude, but will have a tough time to get back now in sprint with new kid Klaebo on the scene.
