For those who don't understand German: she will not undress for Playboy. Others can do that, she says.

In a way, it's a shame her success came so early. Maybe she'd have hung around if she a distant podium hopeful, fighting to make the team? Then, perhaps touring might have gotten old on her even sooner. She just seems to be a home mouse. Wants her little village people and her self knitted clothes.

I dunno. I bet that gets old fast. Wouldn't be surprised if she ended up in TV or film.

Although she could get any media exposure she fancies, and works along when she's asked something, she seems to want a regular life. Perhaps education, perhaps just working on knitting designs. I'm not sure how much of her work in that field is her artistical acoomplishment. If it's her own designs, she can surely start a wool fashion company of sorts. People will love whateer she does. That might get old by itself, if you're sincerely not a media attention ho.
As a pro biathlete, winning WC's as young as she did (I'd love to get some good footage of that), you do miss out of student life, lots of life's education.

She doesn't need to work anymore, ever, obviously. If she needs money, she just allow a comoany to use her old photos and name again. If she gets bored of her man, a snap in the fingers will line up the most eligible millionaires of Germany. It's you're well brought up, that has negative appeal. She'll rather milk cows and herd sheep, dressed in brandless folklore dress.

Too bad, I wasn't quite tired of her winning just yet. And i would have loved her and Domracheva getting a type of Bjoergen-Kowalczyk thing going.

It ends with the notion that although she's only jogged once towards any kind of trianing since retirement, she'll need to stay fit to take on the world again in the Schalke stadium races in December. Wow, must they have made her a good offer to race there... :-)
She's just Queen of Germany and Bavaria...

Apparently she'd done some solid training leading up to this. Sure looked fit, just less sparky of course.
If I heard well, in training her shooting was going really well. That she hit the last five was a great end to her career, made possible by zero pressure (despite 50,000 psyched fans within 70mm or so...).

She's just such a character. In an interview this year she was addressed Lena, and she asked to be addressed Magdalena. In biathlon she's Lena, and that's over. You just cannot get more natural than her. She's the pinnacle of German sweetness. It's nearly cheezy, but it's all for real.

Even for dozens of millions of Euro's, she'd not make a comeback to biathlon. Might do coaching, but she'd totally done as active athlete. She's back to knitting and playing the harp, I suppose. Planning to make babies. Looking for a direction in her life after biathlon, exploring TV and presenting gigs.
