Had a horrible race today

Postby kuan » Sat Feb 16, 2008 5:33 pm

11k in 44 minutes. That's just terrible. I wonder what happened? Frankly I'm a little ticked. I'm not sick, I've had lots of rest, temps weren't that cold. I KNOW I'm faster than 4min/k. I can't figure out how I could have done better though. People who are normally slightly behind me were ahead of me by six minutes. People who normally would be ahead of me by a coupla minutes beat me by eight minutes. Weird.

Kuan,

The very harsh conditions at Mora might have stressed your system more than you know. You might want to take Sun and/or Monday off just to make sure ya got the juice for next Sat.

I know, unsolicited advice is the worst kind. Just something to think about.

It might be this pair of dud skis. Never had good luck with them.

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one who had a dud race at Baker today---I felt like I was gut punched after about 5k.

An 11k shouldn't be THAT much work.

Yup....they had me at 38 minutes.....but my watch said 47.

I thanked them for giving me such a fast time, but told them they might want to give it back to whomever they took it from......
