Korte

Postby Chad Austin » Mon Feb 25, 2008 11:53 am

Thought I'd provide a brief recap of my first x-c ski race ever. I had a total blast - maybe skiing from wave 10 added to the excitement as I ended up passing a lot of people. Going down a hill and having the person in front of me fall added to the excitement too. Then there was the that stopped right in the middle of the trail at the top of the last hill - that was more frustrating than exciting.

I really didn't know what to expect and didn't have any time expectations. I finished in 1:37 which I guess I'll use as benchmark going forward.

Oh yeah, sorry to everyone whose poles I stepped on.

So YOU'RE the one!

Just kidding. :-)

Congratulations and glad you had a good time.

It does get addictive. :D

You weren't even in the race, but it wouldn't surprise me if I ran you over too.

Chad,

1:37 for the Korte from the 10th wave is a fine first race. This gives you some "woofing" rights on your running buddies on your long spring runs

Congratulations

Thanks Norm. About 5 minutes after I finished I heard one of my training buddy's name announced. It turns out it was his first ski race ever too. The funny thing is that I've never beat him in a running race. I guess the little technique that I have was enough.
