Has anyone had success converting nowax skis to a wax base?

I think the short answer is no.

I was thinking of doing this at one point, called a few different shops known for ski tuning and grinding, etc. All of the responses that I received were negative.

Let us know if you find something.

The fantasy hope (for a few of us who have posted here'n'there) is for when skin skis are offered with a variety of replacement strips. Including skin, zero-rubber, and regular waxable p-tex!

Not quite a conversion- but my oldest skis that I bought new have worn the fish scales to the point that they are much quieter than other fish scale type, and have much better glide. In warm wet snow they have plenty of grip and decent glide (well, not klister good, but who can choose the right klister anyway?)
