So...?
Not only do we want fresh skin strips, we want Ptex strips and Zero strips. They should all plug into the skin-slots. Right?

That's right, Jeff, but can we agree on a terminology? Shall we reserve "strip" for just the skin part and call the whole thing "inlay"?
Re: Replacement and alternative skins for Skin-type skis?
Really looks like a revolution in XC skiing, as much as the mohair skins themselves. Just have several inlays for different conditions, temperatures and terrains instead of several pairs of skis as many have now. Some active skiers have at least 4 pairs, others even more. The cost of it all makes XC one of the more expensive hobbies. Now just get different inlays instead.

Re: Replacement and alternative skins for Skin-type skis?
Hi all! Sorry if I'm hijacking this post, I'm new to this forum.
A couple weeks ago I picked up a pair of used Salomon RC Skin skis at an area ski swap but the skin inserts looked pretty beat up. Heard that they were used at the birkie last year. I'm guessing some klister got on the skins and the owner tried to remove as much as they could but it also meant ripping some of the hairs off.
I plan to try it as-is within the first couple snowfalls but was curious if anyone knew how much replacement skin inserts cost? I can't find anyone on the internet selling them except outside the USA. Thanks!
